Details

Brightly reflective and untoned surfaces show exceptional detail and only minor evidence of handling. The Western Hemisphere side of the medal identifies the United States, Washington (DC), Cape Mendocino, California, and the Sandwich Islands (Hawaii), including Owyhee. A very popular early map medal, highly attractive and as interesting to study as any ancient globe. I've owned only one other example of this smaller size map medal in such nice grade.
