Mexico. 1753 MF 4 reales. Mexico City mint. EF-45 (PCGS). Light to medium silver gray with delicate golden highlights and a good amount of remaining lustre, especially on the reverse. Good eye appeal, nicely struck, just a very pleasing specimen overall. This denomination is the most challenging in the standard Pillar type set of half real, real, 2 reales, 4 reales, and 8 reales. Given their preeminent role in 18th century American pocket change, this is a set that is worthwhile to collect in any grade.
